Curious about sugaring? Here are some good things to know!
Sugaring is an ancient form of hair removal that dates back to ancient civilizations in the Middle East and Egypt. Similar to waxing, sugaring removes body hair by quickly pulling the hair from the root. However, there is much that sets it apart.
-
All natural ingredients, no synthetics. Sugar paste is made from sugar, water and lemon juice, making it good for your body and biodegradable.
-
Limited use of disposable supplies makes it an environmentally-friendly option with little waste.
-
Thorough results achieved due to application method. Less hair breakage than waxing, so the results can last longer.
-
Little skin irritation with skin friendly ingredients that actually exfoliate and nourish the skin.
-
Hair grows back softer and thinner and removes more easily with appointments scheduled 3-6 weeks apart and proper at home care.
-
Sugaring is generally less painful than waxing, because it doesn’t adhere to the skin. However, it depends greatly in your pain tolerance and the sugaring technique. The first appointment will generally be the toughest, and each appointment gets easier. Remember, hormones, medications, lifestyle and stress level all contribute.
-
Sugaring is more art than science, with many factors contributing to a successful service. Be sure to talk with your sugarist openly and ask questions to ensure optimal results.

Please consult your doctor before sugaring if you’re taking antibiotics, medications known to thin the skin, Accutane, or retinoids. Clients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation must wait until cleared by their doctor.
